My trip to Denver, the turbo edition

I know I promised photos of my trip to Denver and I really did intend to provide you with them, but once again I was too busy living in the moment to take photos...

But I do so want to let you know that I had a splendid time in Denver and things could not have been better, so here's the Cliff's Notes version of day one my trip:

Friday morning at 5 am I got up, threw a few things (OK maybe more than a few) into my bag and met my buddy downstairs. We managed to stuff my few things (ha) into the trunk of his brand new California Edition Mustang (bright red, it's a beauty I tell ya) and we were off.

About midway to Denver, my friend offered me a chance to drive the 'Stang and of course, me being me and all, I jumped at the chance. It was obvious that my driving scared him badly...
Once we got to Denver, I dropped myself off at my son's and Wolf and I headed for the mall. We did some shopping; Hot Topic, Bath and Bodyworks, the Piercing Pagoda and a few other places and then took a bit of a break. I hadn't eaten much and was a bit woozy so we stopped at the food court where I picked up a raspberry parfait to munch on.

While eating I decided to put in the earrings I had purchased. I had a difficult time getting them in my ear but finally
persevered (remember this because it will become important in a later blog post...)!

After my snack I was full of energy again and we continued our shopping extravaganza. I noticed a nail salon and Wolf offered to pay for a manicure and pedicure for me. I am all woman, so of course I said YES!

There was a short wait so we walked off to do a bit more shopping.
As we passed by one of those fun-photo booths, Wolf and I both (at the same time, if you can imagine) said "let's take our picture!"

My son is a very tall, very broad shouldered guy. He stands 6'4 1/2 in his stocking feet and I can't help but think he has about the broadest shoulders of any man I've ever met.

At first I sat on the bench and he tried to slide in beside me. If you've ever been in one of those booths, you'll know what I'm talking about...there was not much room to navigate in there!

We finally got settled and inserted the credit card. You are supposed to be able to adjust the angle of the camera up and down, but our adjuster doohickey thingamabob (that's the technical term for it) was broken.

We burst out laughing and the series of photos that follows is the result. In the last photo Wolf told me to "look pensive".
How I love that kid.

One more thing...can someone please tell me how many gazillion pounds I have to lose before I lose the second (and third) chin? Sheeeeeesh!!!!

And with that whiny comment, I bid you adieu...I'll fill you in on more of our fun adventures in a day or so.

Hugs to all...
Laurie

Laurie,

Ahem..

He let you drive his red Stang and slept? What a courageous man! There was no one to navigate!

This sounds like the kind of visit I used to have with Gina when I visited her in college. Nails and toes! Whirlwind shopping for shoes and handbags!

Wolf knows how to please...what a great guy.

Silly and loving.

Can't wait to see more!

I don't know what it is about those little photo booths, but people seem to completely lose their inhibitions when they close the curtain. They're magic that way.

Do you think he would let me drive sometime? *snicker*

Chins...please!

Well, dang. Am I the only one who wants to know about your 'friend'?

And Laurie, if you can look THAT GOOD in a photo booth pix - you are GORGEOUS!

I'm so glad you and dear Wolf had a wonderful visit. I had no idea he's that tall. I already knew he was that sweet :0)

Mary, I had Marcia, my navigator, with me! We hardly got lost at all! And Duane is a very brave guy and a good friend as well.

KG, he spoils me rotten!

Nick, I had a blast as I always do with my son. He's the bomb! ha!!

Thomas, it was magical. We are still giggling about it.

Butterfly, I bet he would! He's a nice man.

Ur-spo, that it was!

Cathy, Duane is just a good friend. I've known him for years and we have a lot of fun together, but that is all. :-) Thanks, by the way, for being so sweet!
