The weather here has been frightfully cold and of course wouldn’t you know; the heating system at work chose NOW to quit functioning. The office building is leased by the federal government and the landlord lives out of town. Of course the men-folk tried everything they could to make it work, but after two full days of temperatures hovering around 60 degrees, we called the owner. He hurried right over and figured out the problem immediately; the thing-a-ma-jig that houses the doo-hickey was broken. (Sorry if that was too technical, I work with a bunch of engineers). Anyway, apparently the whole sun-of-a-gun needs to be replaced.
The landlord, being the nice guy that he is, brought numerous space-type heaters to place around the office to keep us from freezing our arses off until it can be replaced. As you can imagine, it hasn’t a very productive week. It’s difficult to type with mittens on.
Fooey!

I can't work at all when I am cold. Hope it all gets fixed real soon for you!
Thanks threecollie. We have seriously considered starting a bonfire inside to warm our hands. It wouldn't be the first fire we've had. Last summer the range interns started the window sill on fire when they set a freshly microwaved bag of grass on it. The window was open and apparently there was just the right mix of heat and air and "poof"!
OK dmmgmfm, Now you've really got my curiosity going. "Range interns?" " . . bag of grass?" Whoa.
I love the picture of Hell frozen over :0D
Not THAT kind of grass, Cathy.
Come to think of it, the interns were acting rather strangely that day...
I don't see how you can work with no heat. That's ridiculous.
Update! The building owner installed a brand new heating unit and it works great. We are toasty warm now. Hallelujah!
