I don't have time to put together much of a post today. But I will say that Dale is doing better than expected. He's got a lot of heart and determination.
We've spent a lot of time talking about our lives and what we'd do differently if given the chance. We've talked about how much his illness has changed us all, making us stronger and more willing to give and receive love.
He wanted to me to tell you all how much he appreciates being in your thoughts and prayers.
Right now, he is longing for home. I guess everyone longs for something. I know I do.

From your last post "life is short and time is precious," indeed.
Your pictures are wonderful and I loved that bold little squirrel.
Sending prayers and good energy across the country.
Yes, good vibes and prayers being sent your way!
Oh Laurie, I'm glad he's doing well. More prayers and good wishes for all of you. This is a very sweet post.
I'm so glad he's doing well. That picture is so sweet.
that was a sweet entry; thank you.
so true, friend. so true.
glad to hear things are going well.
Pam, thank you for the good energy, I think that is what is sustaining him...
Gina, thank you, we appreciate it so much.
Cathy, prayers and good wishes to you and yours too, I'll be thinking of you Monday morning and sending my best healing thoughts your way.
Mspea, the picture is of momma cat. She wanted to go out that day, but the weather was foul and she hates snow. I figure she was longing for spring...
Ur-spo, you are welcome.
Jen, things are going very well. They say he will go downhill starting at day 7 and for a week or more will feel pretty lousy, but we think he will surprise the doctors.
First, good thoughts for Dale and a continued successful recovery.
Second, what a wonderful photo of the kitty looking out the window. Cats can convey longing so well--either they are in wanting out or out wanting in.
Laurie, I'm late to tell you I can see longing in your cats...
I am glad to hear Dale is doing well and I hope the trend continues.
I think of you every day. Know that, from way over here.
Kg, momma cat is a funny girl, but very loveable. Thank you.
Mary, thanks for thinking of me. You are a peach...
I am really glad he is doing better. And it's so great that all of you are rallying at his side. I am very sure it contributes to his present well being.
Tell him to keep looking up!! And remember laughter is a great medicine!
Menchie, thank you. I read all of the comments to him every day and he loves hearing them. He is amazed that people who don't even know him are concerned for his health.
Butterfly, he has a great sense of humor and keeps me laughing all the time. I think it will carry him through.
What a heart-felt post! At one time or another, we all do this review, and wish we'd done a few things differently. We learn to move on, leaving regrets alone. Life is too short to carry them. Take care, Laurie.
I will light a little candle for your friend on my blog. I wish him continued strength and healing.
Bonita, you are right. All a person can do is live life to its fullest from this moment on. Thank you
Cooper, thank you so much. It means a lot to both of us.
You are not going to believe this but this post just showed up on system. Doggone Earthlink! :)
Anyway, best thoughts going out to all of you ~ Obviously Dale has a very strong spirit.
Peace,
~Chani
I am still "lifting up" on this matter. Just so you know...G
I love the photo. I have one in a similar vein, taken by a dear friend, that evokes certain feelings. yours does the same.
;-)
What you long for, you will find.
Chani, I agree, he's got a strong spirit. He's amazing.
Gawpo, I wish you great luck with that!
Jock, I'm glad you liked the photo. I have several photos that evoke extremely strong feelings in me as well. This is one of them...
WW, I know you are right...it's the waiting, you see, that is difficult.
