Oh the joys of working from home...

I am blessed to have a fantastic job. I get to travel a lot and work from home when the need arises. Today was one of those days. I've been trying to catch a cold and since it is -17F outside right now, I opted to work from home during the later part of the day.

It's been a very pleasant and productive afternoon. I've stayed in touch with my co-workers via the phone and internet and I've gotten more done than I most likely would have at work where there are more distractions.

Not to say that I don't have distractions here, just not quite as many...

...but distracting none-the-less.

I used to be able to do that too in my previous job.

Now that I think about it though, I think I would be distracted by the kids too much.

Your cat is such a cute distraction!

I cannot believe how cold it is there! Laurie, you must bundle up. Make hot tea. Warm your kitties.

Most of all, I'm happy you are able to work from home. My daughter can do that but I can't.

What a wonderful life. In your new place. Wow...

Being able to work from home is one of the things I love about this job. Of course, today would've been the day to do so. I fought some nasty whiteouts this morning, the worst weather this year.

I've been trying to catch up here. I'm sorry I haven't been around. You know how it is when life intervenes.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you and sending hugs. Hope you're feeling better!

It is nice when you get the opportunity to stay at home and do your job there. You are so correct when you say you get more done there and you are always more comfortable.
Thanks for sharing

We're blowing and snowing here too. Worked from home today too. Joy - I went from working to sorting through more piles of paper than possible!

I really understand your distractions at home. I hope you avoided catching cold, Laurie.

Hi Laurie: I think it is wonderful that you can work from home when you want. That is so different from the rigid work rules that were in effect most of the time that I worked.

How cut is that!? But - 17!! Honey! I'd be staying inside, too.

Laurie, I'm so glad things are going so well. I'd say you deserve all the peace and contentment that's coming your way.

Big Hug,
Cathy

I love the kitty on the computer! Your work situation sounds ideal and, whenever possible, I believe that companies should allow a little latitude in this area for those who can make it work. Happy employees get more done.
