Still Road Tripping

I tried to get a good picture of the Tamarack (Larch) on the way home from Whitefish, but the weather didn't cooperate. I am posting them, but they didn't turn out very well. Although the round trip is 1,200 miles, I think I will be making the trip again next fall to try again.

I love to look at the mountains here and see all the spots of yellow. Next fall you'll have to 'warn' me you're coming this way, I'll buy you lunch!!

At first my traveling companion and I thought the tamarack were dying conifers. We pulled over to investigate and figured out that they were a totally different species which neither of us were familiar with. We took a small sample and as soon as we got to the hotel we looked them up online.

As for lunch, I will definately let you know when I'm coming! I'd love to meet you.
