My New Toy

Rather than dwell on the fact that I’m not celebrating Christmas 2006, I’m playing with my new toy today. It faxes, it scans, it copies, it prints, and it might keep me occupied until Christmas is over!

The first thing I scanned was one of my son’s senior pictures, which were taken in the fall of 2000. I’ve also posted a current picture of him so you can see how well he’s “aged”.

My second scanning attempt was my senior picture, taken in the summer of 1974.

As you can see from the second picture of me, below, I’ve not aged very well.

What do you think?

Sorry you were forced to postpone Christmas and I hope it is worth waiting for when the weather clears. I like your new toy....

Threecollie, I think having Christmas later will be fine. I plan to do some more shopping, taking advantage of after-Christmas sales. I will pick up some more Christmas decorations to put up at my dad's house this weekend and when my son does fly in, we will be relaxed and ready to enjoy our holiday.

As for my new toy, it is a lot of fun! I often work out of my home, so I can use it for that as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Holiday Hugs,
Laurie

Tee hee! You've got a sense of humor about yourself. You were a very pretty senior in high school. You also have a very lovely son.

Merry Christmas!

Squirl, Thank you for the nice comment. I think my son is very handsome; he has the greenest eyes I've ever seen. As for myself, I've never (especially not in high school) thought of myself as attractive. My hair is quite curly (my mom spent over an hour with an iron to get it straight like that) and I've always hated my nose. But I'm a nice person, so I'm okay with that.

Merry Christmas!

OK - You've got the Christmas Orneries :0) That last picture is a stitch. Isn't it something how our self-perception dogs us throughout life? Your high school picture is precious - a sweet heart! And I can see that your son is very much his mother's child. Beautiful people, blessed by the love they share. (Have fun with that great new gadget - isn't technology wonderful?) Merry Christmas Laurie -
Hugs, Cathy

Love the pictures! I like your son's rosy cheeks and that he took his picture with a kitty. If only my senior picture came out as pretty as yours. Hope you had a good Christmas! I love that song

Mslittlepea...speaking of senior pictures, looking at your blog photos, I can't help but think your senior pictures had to be gorgeous.

By the way, we still have the kitty. Her name is Emily and she thinks she's a dog! She doesn't meow--she squeaks, and she loves to fetch.

Merry Christmas!

That scary old pic is cool.

KC, Glad you like my "current" picture. I was afraid being out in the sun all those years would hurt my skin, but it doesn't look too bad, does it? ;-D

My son and I have been planning our January Christmas today. I am getting very excited! I'm a lucky mom.

Good morning,

I'm zooming off to work, but just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your comment about music. I think you understood my drawing really well.

This post is too funny. Thanks for the laugh.

Potato print, Reading your blog and looking at your drawings gives me such pleasure, I'm glad I could return the favor. Have a wonderful day.

You are so silly! Love the photos. My Christmas was spent extricating the feeder truck from snow drifts. . .

Happy New Year!

Moos, I spent my Christmas trying to extricate myself from the refrigerator (darned holiday snacks). I'm sure your day was much more productive and a lot least less fattening.

Happy New Year Moos!

Kristen, Thanks for the warm wishes, glad I could make you laugh. My son said they are in the midst of another blast of winter right now. His boss sent him home to work so he is safe and sound. Life is pretty good. We'll celebrate Christmas in January or February; I promise to post pictures!
Hugs,
Laurie
