The Top Ten Fifteen Reasons I Don't Always Usually Make My Bed in the Morning...

Aside from numbers 1, 7 and 15, these are in no particular order. To be honest, I could make this the top fifty twenty reasons why, but I'm kind of pushed for time. I apologize for the quality of some of these photos (you'll know which ones). I had to leave the drapes open for the cats (because it really IS all about them) and it caused some glare.

And the #1 reason why I don't always usually make my bed in the morning...

UPDATE: I would have liked to add several more blogs to this list, but I had to go to the office and ran out of time. You KNOW who you are!

I'm going to have to check some of those out. I wanted to curl up and snuggle with those kitties!

I'm definitely going to check those out, too! Clever idea! Wish I could come up with things like that! LOL

Snuggling up with the cats and reading a book sounds good, just about now.

I'd borrow some cats but my dog might get upset about it. :)

Peace,

You must prefer Letterman! ;)

Littlepea, they are on my sidebar. I wish I'd have had time to post all of my favs.

I'll share the kitties...

Chani, your posts are always interesting, informative and clever!

Courtney, I don't watch much tv, but saw part of Letterman at my dad's last time I was there. :)

Found you through Pam's site. A quick shout out that I love that photo of Shasta (the diasasta!) And the fact that you have a gay son who doesn't live near you because it's not as open? I find that so sad. I have a boy, too, and if he likes men in his future instead, I soooo don't care, and I feel fortunate to live in L.A. where all of us can shop together and dance and love each other! You go, girl, for being so open.

I can see why making your bed would be down on your list. :-)

Mama P, thank you, now if only the rest of the world felt that way!

Squirl, So many cats, so little time...

i just don't make my bed because...i hate making beds, and/or ironing. Either one seems pointless to me.

The kitty photos are too funny Laurie! LOL! Can't make up the bed with all of those animals all over it!

Mary said...

Laurie, we are so alike! I pull the spread up but I don't make it for the same reasons as you cleverly listed :o) I'm sitting at the computer from 5:30 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. When I hear the school bus drive by, that's my cue to hit the shower.

Additionally, there are TWO DOGS curled up on our pillows! How could I disturb them during their early morning nap???

dmmgmfm said...

Pink, I really kind of like it to be neat and tidy (or I guess I did, back before my life was taken over by a flock of cats) but there's no way I'd move them just for that.

Naturewoman, can I call you NW for short? You should see me try to change the sheets!

Mary, I agree absolutely. The comfort of our furfriends is much more important than any need or desire we might have to tidy our homes.

Laurie! That is the 'funnest' post ever! I'm passing it over to my son and husband here at the Holiday Inn Express in Marion, Ohio(funeral overnight stop) because they're hearing me exclaiming about how cool this is. You're the best:0)

Cathy, I'm so glad it made you smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you, I know this is a rough time for you. Hugs

As a one time cat owner, I know how hard it is to disturb sleeping kitties for something as mundane as making the bed ...

I can not leave the house of the bed is not made. Don't like getting into messy sheets. Call me obsessive ...

Will have to check out the blogs on your sidebar. Thanks!

Carol, I used to be the same way. One child and six cats later, I just pull the bedspread up over the sheets and call it good. :)

goodness forbid we disturb the kitties. Best excuse i can think of.

woohoo. I love this. you are a funny woman, sister.

and far nicer to the pets than i might be.

thank you.

dmmgmfm said...

Ur-spo, people think I'm kidding, but with six of them, it really is all about the kitties in this house.

Jen, glad I could make you smile. :) My furkids are all I have at home now, so I do spoil them just a bit.

Ha! I never make my bed, although I don't have the cute kitty excuse!

This was so funny! It is true, a goodly number of bloggers don't make their bed until after they've had their blogger-dose. I'm one, too. And, every morning there is a cat snuggled up on my afghan on my side of the bed.

jnuts said...

good thing you didn't snap saturday scrotum, eh?

i don't believe a bed has been made in this house since, 1997. cats are the reason, I swear.

dmmgmfm said...

Gina, you can use my cats as an excuse. :)

Bonita, what would we do without our furkids?

Jock, I nearly used that one!

All that matters is that the cats are happy...

Pendullum said...

Very good excuses if you ask me...

Unknown said...

I don't make my bed simply because crawling into an unmade bed at night is much more cozy.

KGMom said...

Oh, I am so glad someone else gets absolutely caught up in reading blogs that time flies by unnoticed!
I love the bed with all the sleeping critters on it. Why make it when it is still being used?

dmmgmfm said...

Pendullum, thanks. I appreciate the support.

Dr. Sparky, my cats thank you.

Kgmom, thanks and my cats thank you too.

If I woke up every morning surrounded by that much warm, fuzzy, purring, kitty in my bed I would never leave the house!

HE, it is pretty hard to get out of bed some mornings.

WW, I very much hope so! :)

Jacob said...

So, is there really a bed somewhere under all that fur?

dmmgmfm said...

Gawpo, yes there is, it's even queen sized...
