Did anyone get the license plate number of the truck that hit me?

I've had many nice comments and a few concerned emails in the last couple of days, and now that I'm able to lift my head, I thought I'd update you. I don't have anything deadly or life-threatening, just a case of the summer-time flu (which I can assure you sounds a lot more glamorous than it is).

For the last several days I've not been able to keep anything down, including water, but today I had a breakthrough! Not only was I able to drink water, but I ate a peppermint lifesaver too! Woohoo, I'm so on the mend.

In better news, my diet effort is going better than ever. Another month or two of this and I'll look like I did in high school!

Hugs to all my favorite people (from afar so's I don't infect you).

Ahhh... The summer time flu. I hate that bug. Mind you, right now I'd trade you the flu for my sinus infection. :(

I've just been over a severe bout of the cold. I hate being sick.

Am glad you're feeling better.

Courtney, I'm so sorry...sinus infections are no fun at all. Big hug!!

Menchie, yikes! And you have children to take care of. I feel bad for whining. Get well soon!

Dear Laurie,
I never do very well with being sick. You are looking at the bright side of the summertime flu. Instant "lose one dress size in two days!" I have been walking twice a day do do that!
Those peppermints can be filling!!
Glad you are on the mend.
Hugs,
Sherry

Being sick is icky! Hope you are better.. very quickly!

Peace,

Jen, I'm so sorry, the last thing I wanted to do was make anyone worry! I'll never do that again.

Sherry, I'm never sick, so I don't do very well with it either. I am on the mend now, though. Good on you for walking twice a day.

Chani, thanks so much. I am feeling quite a bit better today. :-)

You have such clever post ideas! The flu is definitely equal to being hit by an eighteen-wheeler. Glad you are back on the mend! I will never look like a high-schooler again!

I am glad you are on the mend. Keep on the fluids and stay off the red meat cowboy food. A little chicken broth at first.

Eeeuuw! I'd rather have a cold than an upset stomach! I hate hurling. So glad you're on the mend and on to the gourmet dining of peppermint lifesavers. Sending love and get well hugs.

Mary, I'm not all that clever, nor will I ever look like I did in high school. My face is a roadmap these days! :-)

Tossing Pebbles, I've not even graduated to food yet, so I don't foresee any red meat in my immediate future. The broth is a good idea though, I might try that, thanks.

Pam, I know what you mean, I think I'd rather have a baby than have this again. (Just kidding!)

Isn't there a song about that? "There ain't no cure for the summertime flu?"

I'm pretty sure it's something like that. :o)

Ok, Honey - but you're sure it's just the flu? How long did this thing last? Lordy!

glad to hear you're ok. Great news about the diet, but don't go too far. Women are supposed to have round bits.

The summer flu--no, doesn't sound glamorous to me.
Glad you are on the mend--and have not lost your sense of humor.

Thomas, you are so right! I'm dating myself, but I remember that song.

Cathy, I'm sure it's the flu. Please don't worry. It started Sunday and appears to be over now. I had solid food tonight! Yippee!!

KG, I try to find the humor in most things, though it's not always possible. :-)
