Bear with me...OK?

I'm going away on business for a couple of days and I couldn't bear to leave you without a post to read (or more accurately, some photos to see).

My friend has a cabin in the mountains of Montana. He was there this weekend and took this photo from his living room window.

A few minutes later he took this series of photos out the window of his back door.

"You lookin' at me?"

"I'm nuts about this stuff..."

"I'll be bachhhh..."

My friend saw this relatively small bear several more times during the weekend and also encountered a much larger cinnamon colored bear. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to get a photo of it.

And there you have it, dear friends, my bearly tolerable post for the day. Tomorrow, early morning, I leave for a tour of the beautiful Yellowstone River and then I'm going to my dad's to spend the long weekend.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, filled with friends, family and fun. Remember to hug the ones you love and be kind to one another.

That bear doesn't look so little to me!

Neat photos. It must have been quite a thrill. I have, briefly, seen bear cubs only twice.

Ur-spo, my friend has seen them before up there, but not on his deck!

Threecollie, I don't think there will be bears on this trip, but maybe mountain lions...

Lynne, compared to the other one he saw...this one was small. I sure wish he'd have gotten a pic of the bigger one!

AC, he seemed pretty excited about it. I've seen a lot of bears in my lifetime, but I've never had one on my deck before. :-)

Have a fantastic time!

That was a hungry bear - always drawn to feeders. I'd fall over if I saw one at my house.

Those are the coolest photos! I would love to be able to observe a bear up close like that.

Oh, I wouldn't want bears outside of my home! Your friend is brave.
Have a great trip, and can't wait to see what you bring back for your blog! {{{HUGS}}}

The Yellowstone River? Oh man, I am JEALOUS! Have a wonderful time and a wonderful visit.

Cool pictures of the bear, up close and personal.

How nice to have a bear drop by. The feeder sure was a temptation for the bear.

Around here the berries in the wild have not been very good so bears are looking for an easy meal. They need to put on fat this time of year.

When I lived in Montana, I was always afraid of seeing one of these critters on the trail. Only did once, and he was completely indifferent to us fellow-travelers. Huckleberries awaited.

I hope no one decides that bears shouldn't be on decks--people back in eastern U.S. get allll excited when bears show up, and then decide "we have to to do SOMETHING about all these bears."
My solution--don't build in the woods where the bears live!

Amazing photos. But the thought of bears near your house scares me a lot. Especially if there are kids around.

I once came across a brown bear in the woods. I was glad I was on horseback...and even gladder that there were no cubs on my side of the trail. Whew!

Have a great weekend!

My friend, a now retired FBI agent, has his home in the mountains of West Virginia. He has sent me photos of bears in his yard. His photos of the activity of the bears in the mountains of West Virginia are so similar to your friend’s photos of the activity of the bears in the mountains of Montana that one would never believe that the mountains are about 1,000 miles apart.

Have a fun and safe trip and weekend, Laurie.

So if that very bear took a poop in the woods, but your friend was not there to take the photo, did it actually happen? Great shots!

I'm glad we didn't meet up with any bears on our trip. Great pictures!
