Oh the joys of dirty (ugly) feet...

I am so over the flu!

This morning I got up (shocker, I know) went outside and mowed the lawn, pulled weeds and removed a pickup load of junk from the backyard. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the gnats were stinging. OK, so it wasn't perfect, but it truly was a stellar morning.

I came back in the house, had a bottle of water, played with the cats and then set off for downtown to buy the new bike I've had my eye on for a couple of weeks. I purchased said bike, rode all around town and then headed home. I could feel the sun on my shoulders, the wind in my hair (I know, next time I'll wear a helmet) and nearly everyone I saw waved and smiled.

I returned home feeling all warm and fuzzy and came into the house to play with the cats some more and figure out my next project. I was in the bathroom brushing the tangles out of my hair when I noticed that I had on a thin white shirt and a bright blue bra. I wondered for a moment if perhaps people weren't really waving at me so much as pointing out my very obvious fashion faux pas.

No wonder my roommate and co-workers keep threatening to nominate me to be on What Not to Wear.

LOL!! There's probably going to be a picture of you on the evening news with your face fuzzed out!! What a cool bike- I'm so glad you're feeling back to your old self!

Dear Laurie,
Wow! You really had energy..
Great new bike. I too ride!
I understand dirty feet only too well. I have made a pact with myself to take good care of feet, lotion and shoes every day.... I promised my feet not to "burn" them amy more on hot sidewalks.
so glad you are back . Blue bra under white shirt sounds like a cool fashion statement.
You are the goddess!

You are a hoot! Trust me, hon - I'll take first prize for fashion hopelessness over anyone. I was wandering around with my pants unzipped a couple days ago. No one whistled.

And your toes are nowhere near as lumpy as the 60 year-old pinkies I'm staring at.

So glad you're better :0)

Lynne, it's quite possible. Fortunately our evening news only reaches about 100 people, so I'm OK with that. I am feeling better, thanks so much.

Q (aka Sherry), I was so energetic I even cleaned closets and organized the heck out of things. I don't know what's wrong with me.

I loved the color of my new bike. The cell phone pic isn't very good, but it's a really beautiful color of blue which just happens to be my favorite color (which might have something to do with my choice of bras today as well).

Cathy, are you calling me an owl? ;-)

I love that you wandered around with your pants unzipped and it really makes me laugh because I was half way to the store today when I realized I had no panties on.

No one whistled at me either...

Dang, I've had limited internet time and didn't realize you were sick. I sure hope you're feeling better now.

Nah! The blue bra had nothing to do with the smiles, waves, and giggles you created riding that new bike all over the place. It sounds as if you had a full and wonderful day, Laurie, so celebrate it and fret about nothing.

Squirl, nothin' but a bout with the summertime flu. I'm fine now, thanks.

Nick, I did have a great day. I enjoyed every minute of it, thank you.

Well now I seem to have missed the whole process of your illness!! What kind of friend does that?

Glad you are better! I am surprised you didn't wear yourself out with all that work!!

:X

A bicycle is a good thing despite the fact I've hardly been on mine this year.

dmmgmfm said...

Butterfly, nothing to miss, really. I was so whiny you wouldn't have wanted to read me. *blush*

Tiger, so do I! It's one of my favorite shows, not that I've learned anything from it mind you. lol!

AC, I rode twice yesterday and I'm going to start using it to go back and forth from work instead of my car. :-)

Did you say there's a downtown in Forsyth? (*Runs away*)

Glad to hear and see you're back, working up and riding up a storm on your feet and on your new bike.

Don't you think the rest of the fashion-conscious blogging world needs to see a pic of you as described though?

I mean, are we just supposed to visualize it?

I don't think they will be seeking your out to be a foot model any time soon.

I could have a bicycle if I only got inspired to repair the inner tube!

Hey Laurie - it's me, Heather in Billings. Glad to hear you are back on your feet (and your bike!) I love the bike - what is it? Don't feel bad about the fashion faux pas; we can't all be super models (although I certainly question their fashions choices sometimes as well). At least you didn't do the blue bra/no panties on the same day!

LOL Laurie! You go Laurie with your blue bra and white shirt! I love your new bike! I need to get a new bike, too!! My Dad sold all of mind last year to his friend and I've never replaced them with a new one!

Stacy and Clinton are awesome, I love the What Not to Wear Marathons where I can just veg out. By the way, nude bra next time! ;)

it sure does feel good to be over the flu; please don't push yourself.
and get someone to rub those feet.

Glad you are feeling better and great bike! Sorry you had to do all the catch up yard work! ugg! Now start enjoying the summer before it's gone!

NO PANTIES ON!!!!

That's a recurring nightmare for me. Tell you what! I was raised Catholic and the day I go out the door with no panties on is the day the undertaker is carrying me out and my undies snag on the door jam.

Not a day before :0D

WW, well it's not Winterpeg, but it's the place I hang my hat for now.

If I ever make the mistake of wearing a bright blue bra and a thin white shirt again, I'll most certainly take a photo for all of you to laugh at (you probably won't have to wait long).

Snoskred, I do love that show, but I have a phobia about having my picture taken, so I don't think it's gonna happen. :-)

Tossing, darn! Do you mean I shouldn't quit my day job?

Montana Auntie (aka Heather) so nice to see your comment! I hope you are doing well. I know it's been a struggle for you...please know that you are always in my thoughts. Next time I'm in Billings, lets try to get together for coffee, OK? **hugs**

Pam, I hope you get one soon. I had forgotten how much I love to ride, it's so freeing.

Courtney, I had a nude bra right next to it in the drawer, I don't know what I was thinking (if anything).

Ur-spo, I am having a pedicure tomorrow. From the comments, it seems it's overdue.

Monarch, I am going to do exactly that. I have quite a few fun things planned for the next month or so, I'm making up for lost time!

Cathy, OMIGOD, you are too funny!

I just found your blog and just had to laugh - as 'Cathy' says, you're a hoot!

I'm waiting to purchase a bike very soon! And thanks for the warning - I'll be careful what I wear :-)
