On the mend

I am back on solid food! Life is good! I can't believe how wonderful a bowl of bran flakes tastes (please humor me, I'm old you know).

The good news is I am down 8 pounds since Sunday, the bad news is I probably just gained it all back by eating afore-mentioned bowl of bran cereal.

The way I've got it figured I'm just 3 or 4 bouts of the flu away from my idea weight.

Thank you all for your loving comments in the last several days. They saw me through some dark times and I love you all.

Have a fantastic weekend, my dears. Be well and hug the ones you love close.

it is nice to know that thoughts, prayers and telepathic warm fuzzies still have some efficacy.
glad to hear you are on the mend.
alas, I once was sick, lost 20lb - and gained the whole damn thing back - so be mindful!

Dawn, you are entirely too kind. Thanks honey. **Hugs**

Ur-spo, I know all to well how that can happen. I've been on a non-diet for a year now and have managed to lose quite a bit of weight. I'll probably gain some of this back, but I intend to continue the trend.

Laurie I'm glad too that you're on the mend. You might have hit on a new marketing idea for weight loss- "Germ-in-a-Pill"!
Selfishly, I'm glad you're back in blogland.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. An illness like that is a real misery!

Argh! The flu in the summer, that stinks Laurie! I'm glad you're getting better though! Losing weight this way is NOT the easiest way, for sure.
HUGS to you!

Good to hear that you are getting better! There is just something so "wrong" about being sick in the summer!

I read this, then went and had a bowl of bran flakes. So good. I'm glad you're on the mend.

Now Laurie - you're perfect without losing those pounds. My theory is that it's OK to carry some extra weight. You never know when you're going to need it.

So glad you're better. Be good to yourself. Have a wonderful weekend eating your favorite foods. Ummm. Sweet corn for me :0)

Hugs,
Cathy

Lynne, Germ-in-a-pill, too funny! I'm glad to be back as well. Thanks.

Threecollie, I'm much better now, thanks.

Naturewoman, no, it's not the easy way. I'd rather work out and walk to lose. Hugs back.

Gina, I totally agree. It should be against the law!

Bonita, I really like the taste, color me weird. :-)

Cathy, you are so sweet! But honestly, I'd be perfect if I was 6 foot tall. Hugs to you too.

I am pretty sure that you couldn't gain back 8 pounds by eating bran flakes.
Know what I mean?

KG, I guess you are probably right. :-)

Dear Laurie,
Glad you are feeling better. Maybe tummy did shrink a bit..I always think that.
I also am on a slim and trim program! I have this goal in mind and a pretty black dress to go with it! When I get to my goal I am planning on a swimsuit and a trip to an island spa resort.
I need rewards to keep me on target.
Bran is always good.

Well, Laurie, knowing how bran works on one’s system, if you did gain any weight from eating a bowl of it, it’ll be out of you before too long. (And, if you suffer from irritable bowel syndrome as I do, it’ll be out of you too damned fast!)

Q, I've been on a non-diet for quite awhile and have lost quite a bit of weight. I like your idea of a reward at the end of it...I think mine will be a new wardrobe. :-)

Nick, no IBS here, fortunately. Sorry to hear you have it. **hugs**

I love modest dress on women, Christian, Jewish or Muslim. It is sexy (could that be any oxymoron). My Amish lady friend looks so nice in her bonnet and cape dress.

I digress. It is lovely that you are well on the mend and getting back up to speed.

I am relieved to know you are finally getting well! :) Bran flakes. I wish! Can't touch them. But I would like to lose that eight pounds you mentioned. :)

Peace,
