Our friend Pat lives in the nursing home. She is a truly wonderful lady and we go to visit her nearly every day. She has an African Grey Parrot named Pepi, who she has had since he was a tiny hatchling. He is very smart and very busy.
Pat loves Pepi and Pepi loves Pat, but Pepi will not let Pat touch him. Every time she tries, he bites her. He also bites everyone else that tries...except for me. I can pet him, stroke him, feed him and kiss him right on the beak and he has never so much as looked like he was going to bite.
Pat has decided that Pepi is in love with me. And by the look of it, he may well be. According to Pat, who is quite the expert, what Pepi is doing in this video is the Parrot Mating Dance. He is also chittering, which is, apparently, part of the ritual.
I may not have had the best luck with men in my life, but I think that this one is a keeper...what do you think?

Pepi sure seems to be sweet on you. He reminds me of the African gray that live at the nursing home where my sister Phyllis was. He was a delight, talking and dancing for the residents.
He has a lot to recommend him!
omg, that is so cute! i just read your post to my good husband and turned down the (stupid) baseball game so he could hear you! : )
now he knows i am not the only one out there that talks to the critters! so nice that you continue to visit those lovely people at the nursing home! you are truly an inspiration.
Love comes in many forms and you seem to have found yours!
Honey, you may be looking at your next pet. And parrots do bond with humans for life, a very long life. I understand that they give a great deal of love.
That is so sweet. This is just one more reason (as if you needed any) to visit the nursing home. :-)
Gives a different meaning to "Laurie and Pepi sitting in a tree.... K-I-S-S-I-N-G" now doesn't it!? too cute
Pepi, sweet dear. I'd love to have a bird really LOVE/LIKE me. The closest I can come to that is a Mockinbird but they don't come close to a Pepi!
You have what a bird wants, Laurie! LOL!
Pepi is enthralled by you. You have met and mixed on another level then human.
I like that story, and Pepi is a great name for such a bird! (I didn't know they allowed birds in nursing homes.)
Pepi obviously has great taeste in women:-)
