I Have the Most Excellent Son

I was having problems putting some of my photos on my blog and called my son to complain. He taught me how to compress my files, now I can upload all of my pictures. He is a very patient teacher. I know he thinks I am a techno-dinosaur, but he is kind enough not to mention it.

Somewhere between Browning and the park

My good friend and partner in crime for this trip, Shauna

I think these are the coolest trees in the world. They look like pine trees, but their needles turn yellow and fall off. They are a Larch or Tamarack tree. They are a deciduous conifer. You can see a better picture here.

Awesome! My brother and I love Tamaracks too. They hold special memories of good times together when we were younger. I have been looking for a chance to photograph some here, but we haven't been getting out much.

Wolf: Thanks for the help son, I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to technology; I'm very lucky to have you for tech support. No worries about the phone call. I see you are getting some "weather"--be careful out there.

Threecollie: I had never seen Tamarack in the fall before and I was very impressed. I had my eye on a spot that would have given me a much better shot, but someone was already there setting up to take pictures, and I didn't want to intrude. I am going to try to stop on the way back, if the weather cooperates. I hope you and your brother get a chance to get out and take some photos soon.

Beautiful pictures! Is your son being affected by the blizzard in Colorado? My kid-sister, husband and daughters were supposed to fly out of Colorado Srpings tomorrow. Yipes!

My son mentioned that there is quite a lot of snow. He's a Montana boy though, and used to driving on bad roads. I still worry of course; that's my job as a mom. Glad you liked the pictures and thanks for commenting.

Kathy: I sure hope your family made it out of C Springs alright. My son gave me a short weather report last night; it didn't sound too bad, so hopefully they got to their destination.

Just heard from my sis - they had to shovel a 2 foot drift out of their driveway, but they made it to Ohio to visit with family. Yea!

Kathy: leave it to my son to minimize the weather; he doesn't want me to worry. He's so sweet. Glad you family made it safely to their destination.
