Since I will be high speed internetless while I'm there, I'm going to leave you, my dear blogfriends with a few beautiful pictures of one of my fur-kids. Please clap your hands together for "W" Kitty (aka Orange Belly).
Aren't I just the cutest thing?
Why are you standing on your head?
Just one more photo for my adoring fans.
And I'm spent.

Safe travels, Laurie - and yes that is one sweet beautiful cat! Bring back some beauty you can share with us.
Be safe. That's a fine lookin feline.
Cathy, Thanks, I think the roads are okay and I'll probably post a travel update when I arrive. I might even post some mountain shots if I can while I'm there. They are getting high speed internet sometime in the near future, but probably not until next week. If I can get them to upload over dial-up, I'll do it.
AC, She's a beauty, isn't she? She talks and fetches too!
Be careful. Dammit careful. Yesterday Dan got our Blazer stuck in the driveway -- which is nothing more than a lumpy sheet of ice and mud and slush. Due to my competitive nature I had to prove that anything he can do I can do better, so I got it unstuck, then got it stuck more when I slid off the driveway into the ditch.
Beautiful photos, what an adorable cat.
Here's to a safe drive for you. I hope you can update.
Beautiful, photogenic kitty there.
Laurie - I just read your comment on Laura's blog - Somewhere in NJ - about losing your two dogs two years ago within a couple months of each other. I couldn't believe it. We went through an almost identical loss - . Nearly killed us. Just had to share that.
Hope you're safely arrived and having a good time.
Courtney, I'm competitive that way too and sometimes it gets me in trouble. Obviously I made it here safely. The roads weren't too bad and other than the wind, it was a good trip.
Ivy, Thanks, I'm glad you like them. She is a real sweet kitty, loves to fetch and "talks". By the way, yes, I'm that crazy cat lady your mom warned you about. I'll post pictures of my other 5 cats soon.
Squirl, I had a good trip, I shopped till I dropped in Billings and took a few photos on the trip. I'll try to post them tomorrow.
Cathy, I'm so sorry to hear you had a similar experience. It truly is devastating. It seems like I cried for a year and I still tear up when I think about it. Some people don't understand(HWDDD for example) how attached some of us become to our pets. but to us, they are family.
such a roly poly pussycat.
be safe. travel lightly. roll down the windows and yell at the moon in the middle of nowhere for me.
Ur-spo, I call her voluptuous because I don't want to give her a complex. ;-)
Jen, I didn't actually yell at the moon, but I did hop out several times and take pictures (which I'll post later, if I can get them uploaded on this darned dialup internet), does that count?
Glad to know you arrived safely. We'll be looking for pictures. :) As for howling at the moon, there is something definitely worthwhile in the exercise. :)
peace,
~Chani
Chani, If the sky is clear tonight, I'll go over to the river and give it a try. It sounds positively therapeutic.
Hello!
I visited your blog today and I enjoyed your great photos! Like the kitty, too :) Have a safe trip.
You hooked me with cat pics! I'll be back.
Mary, I'm glad you like the kitty pictures. Thanks for stopping by.
MJ, I'll post more kitty pictures soon. They are extremely photogenic. ;-)
I also loved the cat pix, tho I've always been a dog lover.
Hey, Laurie...where the heck is it you went? For us dumb Canajuns who don't know a lot about Montana...
WW, Funny thing is, I'm a dog lover too. HWDDD, however, is not a dog fan, so I have made do with cats. And honestly, they are wonderful and I love them very much. A couple of them even think they are dogs. They fetch and instead of meowing, they squeak, which I think is their attempt at barking. I also take the neighbor dog walking every morning and spend at least an hour a day with him throwing the tennis ball. I have been known to spoil him just a bit.
And just for you, I will tell you where I went. My hometown, Absarokee, is in south central Montana at the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains. It is 60 miles southish and west of Billings (the biggest city in Montana) and about 50 miles, as the crow flies, from Yellowstone National Park. It is truly beautiful up here. I am going to go out tomorrow and take some local photos to share with you.
PS: I don't think you are dumb at all.
Have fun, Laurie. Lots of fun.
Thanks Nick, I'm having a wonderful time.
