Techno-Dinosaurs

My son’s first word was “Moon”, closely followed by “Man in Moon”. I just thought you’d like to know that.

The photo (above) was taken from the back deck of my dad's house. I’ve come to spend another weekend with my dad and brother. As some of you know, I have attempted to post from Absarokee in the past, but was hamstrung by slow dial-up internet and a shared computer. All of that is a thing of the past now because we have…drum roll please...WIRELESS HIGH SPEED INTERNET!! Yes folks, we are out of the dark ages and into the light! No more painting the kitchen (as if) while the page downloads. No more driving to the store, doing the weekly shopping and returning only to find that the picture you are posting is still, for lack of a better word, posting. Yup, we’ve stepped it up a notch here in the big city and we are very happy and excited about it. As a matter of fact, my brother is right this very minute Yahoo messaging me blog links from two rooms away. Aint technology grand?

Anyway, the whole purpose of this post (yes there is one, so pthhhhh) is to say a great big THANK YOU to tech support (my son) for hooking us up.

You RAWK son!

Mslittlepea, I agree, totally!

Jen, I was impressed with the moon last night too. Such a clear night, it was quite impressive. And I agree about my family, they are good people. :)

Thank God for high speed wireless connections. What we would do without it.
More important (you are correct) thank God for your son who put it all together. As I looked at his picture I felt a warm rush across my forehead. The energy of love is coming through the miles and miles between your site and mine. Your admiration and your lovve for your son is a gift that only a few on this planet really understand and know.
We have a knowing that another being shares our deepest feelings and spirit. It is the contract we signed on before all our episodes on this journey began.
Thank You for stopping in at my site and with your permission I would like to visit yours routinely.

I bow to you and your son
Namaste

Dave, you understand. To be honest, most people don't. Thank you for putting the bond my son and I have into words.

I am honored that you want to visit my blog. I will also be visiting yours.

Zoe, I am really enjoying working and surfing from the comfort of the warm, sunny kitchen. When the weather improves, I will be surfing from the deck!

Uber cool indeed, your son certainly rocks! But then, we already knew that! ;)

Laurie: We were living in NY City when my oldest son said his first word. It was Firetruck...except that with his baby lisp it came out at F..k and you can imagine the looks we got!!

dmmgmfm said...

Courtney, we are in complete agreement on that!

Ginnie, I can imagine! Living in NYC, you probably got to hear that word frequently. How cute, in an embarrassing sort of way.

My little cousin had a very pronounced lisp and she loved to sit on people's lap, but she always asked for permission first. Her family was very religious, so you can imagine how well that went over.

Oh YEA! Wireless.

OK. OK. I'm stretching for coincidence, but the fact that his first word was 'moon' is so sweet. My kid has made a career out of studying the moon. I love that you can make out craters on the limb.

Dave put his finger on the caring that your blog reveals.

Cathy, I think it's a very cool coincidence! I bet your son loves his work.

I find the moon fascinating. I used to take my son out nearly every night to look at the moon and his favorite book was "Goodnight Moon".

Wireless *is* magic!!! Your son rocks :)

dmmgmfm said...

Laurie, it IS magic. I'm on the couch surfing blogs and visiting with my dad at the same time. Life is good!

Wahoo! I love technology (when it works...) Enjoy your visit and hug your son. My daughter needs to teach me how to download songs on my new Ipod. I just don't have the patience to figure it out for myself.

I'm always tempted to take a shot at the moon and once I did a good job in daylight.

Mary, my son already left for home. He hooked us up last weekend. But you're right, technology is great, when it works.

By the way, I was posting a comment on your site at the same time you were posting on mine. Can you hear the Twilight Zone music in the background? ;-)

Wireless Internet would be great! I wish…

The moon is a unique astral body! I understand we may soon have a colony on it.

dmmgmfm said...

Nick, I'm not sure I'd want to live on the moon. I kind of like earth. It might be fun to visit though!

I've never seen the moon like that... it appears to be torn in half. Interesting photo.

dmmgmfm said...

Joe, you are right. It does look like it's torn. Interesting observation, thank you.

Squirl, I'm surfing from the couch right now and loving it! Family tech support is awesome.
