I am having blog withdrawals. Due to technical difficulties seemingly beyond our internet provider's control, we have been without service for 7; count them seven, days this month. There is no end in sight and I have been reduced to posting comments on other people’s blogs from my work computer.
I can’t believe how much I miss keeping up with what is going on in everyone’s lives. Am I living vicariously through all of you? It’s possible I guess.
I shouldn't complain...people are sleeping in doorways and I'm whining about not having high speed internet at my fingertips.
It's official, I'm a bad person. *Sigh*

I'm sorry you don't have internet. It really sucks. Drives me nuts when mine doesn't work.
You are a dear person and fellow blog addict. This is where we put the best of ourselves: our thoughts, dreams, humor and the need for connecting to others. I can't imagine these long winter nights without the anticipation of discovery and sharing. (Hope you get the internet thing straightened out soon.)
Hugs,
Cathy
If you are a “bad” person does that mean that Santa isn’t coming to your house? Oh goody! More for me!
Seriously, I sorry about your connection problems. I was without a computer for a month after Alex spilled Dr. Pepper on mine. I was almost desperate enough to walk the two blocks to the library and use one of their computers. (Give you any ideas?)
Nick: Good news, I don't have to waddle down to the library to use their computer! When I returned from the office today, my internet was working! I have my fingers and toes crossed (ouch) that it will continue to work for awhile.
As for Santa, I will ask him to give you extra goodies for being a good boy and thinking of ways around my computer problem.
Holiday Hugs to you and Alex,
Laurie
Hi dmdgmfm
Yes, it's really frustrating when the connection goes down. I really enjoy the comments that you leave on my blog. One thing I've noticed when mine goes down is this: I regain my balance. I put blogging in its correct place in the hierarchy of things. It's kind of like fasting or something. When you start to eat again, you are at least aware of how addicted you are. Does that make sense?
I write that because I, too, am addicted to blogging.
Potato print: That makes a lot of sense, and I did get a lot done while it was down. I’m not sure I regained any balance though, because I have a problem, I’m a workaholic. Blogging is my outlet and when I can’t blog…I work. I probably need to put work into some type of perspective too. What do you think?
By the way, I’m glad you like my comments. I adore your blog and your drawings are wonderful. Thank you for sharing yourself with us.
You are most certainly not a BAD person -- just a BLOG person....get it straight, ok, lady!? :-)
Kristen: Thanks for straightening me out on that!
But, the internet provides information to us with some immediacy. Therefore we are better able to inform ourselves of world events, the status of help that is being provided to those in need, and even allow us to research charities to make sure that if we're in a donating mood, we're donating to the right place and for the right reason.
And being informed and well educated makes us all-around, better people. Not bad. Better!
Right? Right.
Well since you put it that way Courtney, I agree! I’m not a bad egg after all. What a relief, thanks!
I was living in South Fla for the past two hurricane season and I didn't freak out when we lost power-I lost my mind when the power came back but not the internet connection. Yes-I would rather suffer the humid Fla summer heat than go without internet....and I wasn't even blogging then. What am I going to do this summer when I visit my inlaws in Canada who don't have it??!!
Mslittlepea: Perhaps there's a cyber cafe nearby that you can visit. Possibly a library (thanks Nick) if all else fails? I am so glad to know I'm not the only blogaholic in the world.
Horrible to be without the net and unable to blog. We had a big flood here this summer and were without power for a couple of days and I was just nuts. Hope it gets resolved very soon!
Threecollie: It's so nice to hear that I'm not the only one! The good news is that our server is up and running again; the bad news is I've not had time to put together a post. I promise to try to get something blogged tonight.
Thanks for stopping by.
