Just One Cat-astrophy After Another Around Here

No animals were harmed during the shooting of this photo. Not for the lack of trying on their part, however.

We have a cat tree that's about 6 feet tall, but not attached to the ceiling. Our largest kitty, Meg, 25 pounds, will jump from the top of it (it's HER spot, afterall), onto the bed. Her jump is so powerful that she knocks the thing to the ground. It weighs about 100 pounds with a heavy weight at the bottom.

Anyway, I feel your pain!

Our cats prefer the front windowsill. It's got sufficient anchorage, both inside and out. They have chosen both places. Once a week I have to clean the paw-prints off the window.

My cat never knocks over his stuff. He prefers to throw my stuff around.

Is it not amazing how cats can cause such severe destruction of OUR temple? *shaking head*

Having a lame and de-clawed cat prevents certain calamities. :)

Goober looks terribly upset - not.

Courtney, I thought about getting one of those, but knew it would be on the floor more often than not. I feel your pain as well.

Bonita, my cats like lying in the window too, but they only have the back of the couch and their kitty condo.

Mist, mine do that as well. You do NOT want to know what they do with my underwear...

Butterfly, mine think it's THEIR temple.

AC, sometimes I think I should have at least de-clawed them.

Joe, he's not the brightest light in the marquee, but he's very loveable.

Funny! What an enterprising cat, trying out gravity-defying methods of cat scratching.

never a dull moment where cats are involved. mine haven't knocked over the cat condo/tree over (yet), but they do manage to shake the house when they jump on it.

What a hoot! Oh those four legged kids! :)

OMG Laurie - ROFL!! That's too funny. Cats are a riot, aren't they!

Rhea, with six you get eggroll and one of them is bound to be a bit "slow". Goob's our special needs cat, as you can probably tell.

Jock, I'm sure they do. They are supposed to be such delicate, graceful creatures. In my experience, that's a myth of monstrous proportions.

Tiger, never a dull moment around here.

Naturewoman, absolutely! I never get tired of their antics.

What was that saying about curiosity and cats?

I wonder how many lives Goober used up on that maneuver?

Cats never make mistakes, do they?

;-)

Holy Meow!

dmmgmfm said...

Cuppa, hopefully that was just his first. He's not too sharp, but he's very affectionate and fun to be around. He uses his paws like hands.

Squirl, not in their minds, anyway.

Cathy, my furkids can be a handful from time to time. :)

This is why I miss living with cats!

dmmgmfm said...

Carol, do you want to long-distance adopt Goober? Otherwise I'll post photos of the rest of them for you to choose from. :)

oops!

I need a cat - it will make me feel less of a nerd when I see what kind of crazy things they do.

dmmgmfm said...

Pink, you'd never be bored. They are too much fun sometimes. ;-)

Menchie said...

Wow, and I thought dogs were hyper. :D

dmmgmfm said...

Menchie, sometimes at night, you'd think there were a dozen of them. They get wound up and run across the top of me, knocking things off of the nightstand and dressers. They are totally out of control!

Carol said...

Please send me cat pics so I can festoon my office with them!

dmmgmfm said...

Carol, I've sent off an email with several photos and will send more later. You can also see them on my flickr site which is linked on my sideboard.

Hugs,
Laurie

Laurie, Nick was able to put up a post. It doesn't sound like he's living at home yet, though.

dmmgmfm said...

Squirl, thank you! I am so glad he's at least able to do that.
